Mrs. Dorothy V. Karger, 85, of Kerrville, died Tuesday, May 1 in a Fredericksburg care center. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4 in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, the Rev. Rolf Larson, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home. Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Junction to Oliver and Rosie Taylor Kirkpatrick, she had been a resident of Kerrville for more than 60 years. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Kerrville State Hospital for over 20 years. She married F. A. (Buddy) Karger on March 26, 1937, in Kerrville. He preceded her in death in 1977. Mrs. Karger was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons, Harry W. Karger and F.A. (Buck) Karger, both of Ingram; a daughter, Kay Hall of Brady; two brothers, Raymond Kirkpatrick of Dickinson and Billy Gene Kirkpatrick of San Antonio; four grandchildren, R.G. Hall of San Angelo, Chris Hall of Brady, Clay Karger of Kerrville and Shawn Karger of Denton; and three great-grandchildren.
