Second graders get the grade on local history

Brady Elementary second grade classes were recently out and about learning about Brady, McCulloch County and Texas. The classes visited the museum, escorted by Bert and Beverly Striegler, the courthouse, escorted by Tina Smith, and Evridges’, escorted by Nancy and Grant Evridge. They were treated to points of interest and history while they enjoyed Evridges’ popcorn and cookies and punch furnished by their parents. During their Texas/Brady unit, the students were visited in their classrooms by Don Neal, who taught them about the history of farming and ranching in this area. They also enjoyed a visit from Nell Spiller, who demonstrated the art of quilting. Ann Schuffler came to Brady Elementary bringing her spinning wheel and other equipment to teach about processing mohair. What a wealth of information our community has to share with our young children! These students all saw that learning is exciting and fun!
