Clay Doyal, 41, of LaVernia died Friday, April 20. A memorial service was held at the Finch Funeral Chapel in LaVernia at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23 with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery. He was born on Jan. 9, 1960, in Pecos and was employed with City Public Service for 10 years. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Delma Doyal; two sons, Cody and Chance Doyal; his parents, A.C. and Jonell Doyal of Higgins; a sister, Nancy Pointer-Meason and husband, Gene, of Austin; a brother, Jimmey Doyal and wife, Linda, of Topeka, Kans.; his mother-in-law, Leonora Talmantez of Floresville; brothers-in-law, Jerry and wife, Cindy, Reggie Talamantez and wife, Misty; nieces, Amber Pointer, Kristy, Shyann, Sierra and Seven Celeste Talamantez; nephews, Scott and Lance Doyal, Jona-than, Tyler and Aaron Talamantez, Brock Pointer; step-nephews, Dakota Mills, Brad Meason and wife, Courtney, Brent Meason; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Esequiel Talamantez, Jr., his grandmother, Zella Hickerson and his uncle, R.C. Doyal, both of Brady.
