Former Bradyite’s granddaughter princess at Waco

Miss Ashley Dodds Vela of Waco will be presented as a princess at the Waco Cotton Palace Pageant on Friday, April 27. She is the daughter of Linda Dodds Vela and the granddaughter of Mrs. William A. Dodds and the late Mr. William A. (Bill) Dodds, both former mayor pro-tem’s of Brady. She attends Waco High School where she is a member of the Drama Club, Spanish Club and Interact. She is also a member of the Student Council and participated as a member of the UIL Mock Trial Team. Miss Vela has been both a Symphony Belle and a Brazos Belle. She has enjoyed modeling for various fund-raising fashion events and has volunteered for the Family Abuse Center, Zoobilee, The Art Center and Waco Lyric Opera. She attends St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she has served as an Acolyte for six years. She will attend the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., this fall.
