Rochelle High School tracksters dominate district competition

The Rochelle High School girls’ and boys’ track teams took first and second place in the district 15-A track meet held last Friday in Winters. This year’s win marks the third straight championship win in a row for the Lady Hornets. They scored 116 points at the meet to runner-up Santa Anna’s 88. Gina Baker was high point girl for the track meet with 41 points. The boys’ track team placed second with 102 points, a mere 14 points behind the championship team from Trent. “We will lose three senior girls,” said Rochelle coach Tommy Meredith, “but we do have a good group of eighth graders coming up next year. The boys will lose only one senior which makes the future look real bright.”
