Local scouts receive Arrow of Light honors

Five Cub Scouts from pack 424 were honored by receiving their Arrow of Light award at the recent Annual Blue and Gold Banquet. The boys were part of the Webelo den lead by Kim King. After working for many years in Cubs they have achieved Cub Scouting’s highest award. Receiving the award were Dallas DeRamus, Jonathan Jordan, Brantley King, Justin Owens and Jonathan Simmons. Scout Master Bobby Schmidt of Boy Scout Troop 402 participated in the ceremony welcoming the into Boy Scouts from Cub Scouts. The Blue and Gold Banquet is held each year by Pack 424 at the First Christian Church to celebrate the anniversary of the Scouting program in the United States. John Stewart, Cub Master, reported that the baked goods auction held by Rick Tripp raised $1,115 to support the Cub Scout program in Brady. He expressed gratitude to the many Brady merchants who supported the auction.
