Other than the fact that they are in Brady’s district, there is some local interest in the Lady Yellowjackets state semifinal girls’ basketball game in Austin this week. The Jackets’ assistant and JV coach is a former Bradyite’Tricia Black Lively, 28. She helps head coach Jacquetta Brown, a job she’s had for two years. Prior to moving to Llano, Lively coached two years at Brady, and after getting her master’s degree at Southwest Texas State University, she was at Blanket for a year. The Lady Yellowjackets (30-5), the District 26-3A champion this season, were scheduled to meet Winns-boro (35-4) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas campus in Austin. The winner will face the winner of the other semifinal game, Abilene Wylie (31-2) and Sour Lake Hardin Jefferson (27-9) in the finals at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Ironically, Brady was in Wylie’s district last season, and Llano this year. Tricia is the daughter of Steve and Louleen Black of Brady. She is a Brady High School and Angelo State University graduate.
