The McCulloch County United Way is trying to wrap up its 2000/2001 campaign drive. Leaders have placed “little green envelopes” in local bank statements. This is the UW’s resident drive because of lack of volunteers who want to go door-to-door. Citizens are requested to mail in a donation. The goal is $10,000 in order to fill requests from the different agencies’4-H, Child Welfare, (Foster Child Program) Brady Clergy Association, Sunset Center, Helping Hands, and the Boy Scouts. The agencies include the very young and the very old. UW leaders say that the local organization is in the process of merging with the Concho Valley United Way, but all the money raised in McCulloch County stays in this county.
