The Southside Church of Christ in Brady will be installing a new preacher on Sunday, March 4. The local preacher, Gene Lyles, after 31 years of service will be passing the torch to Michael Laurence who, with his family, will be moving here from San Antonio. There will be no change in the doctrinal position of the congregation church leaders stated. “We will still be guided solely by the last will and testament of Jesus Christ’neither adding nor taking from what is taught therein,” a spokesperson said. Lyles and his wife, Melva, will continue with the congregation assisting in whatever way they can. “This new arrangement is harmonious and unanimous among the members. It has not been brought about by any dissension or disagreement among us. So to those who desire to let the Scriptures be their guide without addition or subtraction, we invite you to come study God’s word with us.” Service schedules are as follows: Sunday Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m., Sunday morning worship is at 10:45 a.m. and evening worship is at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m.
