BHS band duo takes first chairs in all-state bands

Countless hours of hard work and preparation finally paid off for two Famed Brady Bulldog Band members this weekend. Russell Dean and Bryson Owen, both sophomores at Brady High School, were named to the top chairs in the two state bands this weekend. Dean, a tuba player for the FBBB, tried out and was named the top of 20 tuba players from across the state. His first chair slot was the highest position attainable for a 3-A high school band member. This is his second year to be named to the all-state band. Owen, a trombone player with the FBBB, was one of 24 instrumentalists to make up the two 12-member trombone sections. His first chair position in the concert band is his highest achievement in his young musical career. After tryouts and placements, the two bands conducted practices and performed concerts during the weekend of events.
