The Brady Bulldogs stayed with the Wimberley Texans, who are tied for the district lead in the basketball race, in the game here last Tuesday, but the stronger visitors left town with a 78-48 win. “We finished the first quarter down only one, but they took over after that and cruised,” Brady coach Shawn Dalbert said. “They got hot, and we didn’t,” he said. The Texans held a 39-28 halftime lead. “I believe we have a new rivalry,” Dalbert said after the game. “They are a good team, but they are overly confident on the floor. They are very flashy. I’m looking forward to playing them in the years to come.” The Brady coach said his team is very young, and will be much improved next year and the year after. “Our kids have competed well all season, we’ve just missed too many shots,” he exclaimed. Shawn Borchert and Johnny Menefield paced the Bulldogs with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Bulldogs are 1-7 in district and 3-23 overall.
