Eli Donald (E.D.) Solsbery, 86, a longtime Lohn stockfarmer, died Wednesday, Feb. 7 in Brady. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (today) in Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady, Dickye Moore, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born Oct. 3, 1914, in Locker, he was the son of Leonard Welch and Pricia Gertrude Taylor Solsbery. He married Lottie Fowler on Jan. 29, 1937, in Brady. A stockfarmer, Mr. Solsbery had been in this area since 1934. He helped organize the Lohn Cemetery Association, and he was a member of the Lohn Church of Christ. He attended school in Locker, graduating in 1932. Survivors include his wife, Lottie of Lohn; a son, Fowler Solsbery and his wife, Linda, of Brady; three daughters, Jannette Jones of Eden, Peggy Greer and her husband, Sandy, of Imperial, and Kay Gage and her husband, Tony, of Rochelle; a brother, Durward Solsbery of Lohn; his twin sister, Edna Martin of Burnet; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gayle Doyal, Klein Reed, Bill Bingham, Tommy Smith, Jerrell Hemphill and Nelson Solsbery.
