Wal-Mart names new manager, gets facelift

New faces and new facelifts are all just a part of the flurry of activity that is going on at the Brady Wal-Mart. The new face around the store is Don Finkenkeller, the new store manager. The new facelifts are still in the works as the store undergoes remodeling that is centered around bringing in a small section of coolers that will hold frozen food that will be part of a limited grocery supply. Fresh from an assistant manager’s position at the Wal-Mart store in Belton, Finkenkeller was recently promoted to manager of the Brady store. He and his wife, Robyn, and three-year-old daughter, Jordyn, moved to Brady over the weekend. A former military man, Finken-keller was stationed at Fort Hood when he met his wife. Upon leaving the Army in 1990, he began working at Wal-Mart in Killeen while attending night classes. Working his way up the ladder over his 10-year stint with the company, he eventually was promoted to assistant manager where he served until his promotion to store manager in Brady. Along with a new position to fill in the Brady store, Finkenkeller is now also heading up the renovations that will provide yet another service for area residents. A limited grocery section is going to be added to the current section that will offer a variety of frozen goods in addition to various other items. According to Finkenkeller, the renovation plan is expected to be completed by the end of March. “This section will offer only a limited number of groceries,” he said. “We are not going to add any fresh foods such as produce.”
