Whitten, Heckathorn exchange wedding vows in Fort Worth

Alice Lynn Whitten and Paul Andrew Heckathorn, both of Fort Worth, exchanged wedding vows Dec. 16, 2000, at 11 a.m. at The Lobby at Magnolia in Fort Worth. Reverends Joseph Weaks and Dawn Darwin Weaks, friends of the bride, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Jim and Betty Whitten and is the granddaughter of the late Chan and Margaret Whitten and the late Perry and Bernice Bradshaw, all of Brady. The groom is the son of Barbara Heckathorn of Grand Prairie and Ben Heckathorn of Fort Worth. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory colored dress with lace bodice and a sheer skirt and a shawl designed by her mother. She carried a handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother, Bernice Bradshaw. Matron of honor was Amy Knight, sister of the bride, and flower girls were Madeline and Kalley Knight, nieces of the bride, all of Farmington, Minn. The house party included Toni Driver Avey of Alvarado and Gindi Eckel of Fort Worth, both friends of the bride. Gift attendant and honorary usher, seating his grandmother, was Alex Knight, nephew of the bride. Best man was Troy Topping, brother-in-law of the groom, of Carmichael, Calif. Also in attendance were family members Dorothy Wingard of Austin, the Dale Wingard Family of Sugarland, David Wingard of Houston, James and Kristin Wingard of San Marcos, G. Cody and Carol Bradshaw of Fredericksburg, Linda Heckathorn of Grand Prairie and Amy Heckathorn Topping of Carmichael, Calif., sisters of the groom. The bride graduated from the University of Minnesota’Twin Cities where she received a bachelor of science degree in finance and from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio where she received her juris doctorate. She is an attorney with the firm of Forshey & Prostok, LLP in Fort Worth. The groom graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington where he received a bachelor of arts in history and Spanish. He is employed as a corporate trainer for AmeriCredit Corporation in Arlington. Following a holiday honeymoon trip to Naples and Rome, the couple now reside in Fort Worth.
