Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday at the Cafe at the Depot. Student Rotarian Danielle Snodgrass was present for her first visit. She is the daughter of Dennis and Christie Snodgrass. She has two sisters, Kaylynn and Stephanie, and she attends St. Patricks Catholic Church. Danielle is involved in student council, National Honor Society, varsity cheerleading and varsity basketball. She has held the offices of vice president of student council, vice president of National Honor Society, co-captain for varsity cheerleading and basketball. She has also been Texaco Student of the Week, “Top Team” in the Heart of Texas for cheerleading, and Danielle ranks number two in her class. Danielle plans to attend the University of Texas in Austin and major in advertising. President Jim Ricks announced that the Rotary District Birthday Party will be Feb. 10 in San Angelo. Also, on April 7-8 there will be an Old Antique Car Show and Swap Meet here in Brady. Program Chairman, Max Gordon, introduced Connie Easterwood, Principal of Brady Elementary School. She informed us of the service learning projects. Students have academic achievements as well as service to others. They have outdoor learning areas including flower beds. The students in third, fourth and fifth have a garden club and a small animal program. There will be a summer program of music and art. The $2 bill was won by Jim Ricks for being the first to reply to, “What three words are on all U.S. monetary bills'” Answer: Federal Reserve Note.
