Samuel David Gossett, 44, of Brady died Saturday, Jan. 20 in San Angelo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels, Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born June 22, 1956, in El Paso to Elton Lee Gossett, Sr. and Melba (Shipley) Gossett, he married Alice Hernandez on Nov. 18, 1987, in Brady. Since moving here in 1970 from El Paso, he was an inspector/fabricator at Heartland Rig International in Brady, was a former meter reader for the City of Brady and worked several years at Roddie Wool. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brady. Survivors include his wife, Alice Gossett, of Brady; four stepsons, Frankie Quintero and Tony Quintero, both of Brady, Donny Quintero of Brownwood and Sammy Quintero of Moriarty, N.Mex.; a daughter, Monica Renee Gossett of Brady; a stepdaugher, Jessica Quintero of Brady; a brother, Elton Lee Gossett, Jr. of San Angelo; a sister, Margaret McCulloch of Seminole and a grandson, Christopher Quintero. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, James Christopher Gossett; and a brother.
