The McCulloch County Republican Women have changed their regular meeting time to accommodate the schedules of more women who might be interested in taking part in the organization. The group will now meet every second Tuesday of the month at noon for a “brown bag” meeting in the Chamber of Commerce conference room. Formerly known as the Heart of Texas Republican Women, the organization accrued 267 volunteer hours for the 2000 election year. The group is commencing its fourth year in McCulloch County and is interested in increasing its membership to help support Republican Party nominees at the local, state and national levels who will represent conservative ideals and positive family values. The group met Tuesday, Jan. 9 and elected the following officers for 2001: Fay Parks, president; Jessalu Lorck, vice president; Dorthy Beaman, treasurer and Debbie Vickers, secretary. The organization’s membership dues are $17, and all members are invited to attend the annual Legislative Day which will be held in Austin on Thursday, March 22. Call 597-0073 for more information.
