Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday at noon at the Caf’ at the Depot. Student Rotarian Rhett Behrens was present for his second visit. He informed the club of his intention to attend the University of Texas and major in science. Lynn Munden introduced Chelsea Simpson and Brian Hovorak, BHS students, who recently attended the RYLA Conference held in New Braunfels. They each gave a resum’ of their experience; and then a follow-up by Mrs. Munden. Program chairman, Gene Frost, introduced Danny Neal, publisher of the N Business Journal. He is interested in the growth of Brady: how is it going to grow; why does a new business come to Brady’ We should all bring out our ideas of how we can help Brady. President Jim Ricks informed the members that Shirley Henderson represented the Brady Rotary Club at the recent Junior Livestock Show. The club contributed $500, and along with First American Bank, Leatherwood Memorial Chapels and Oglebay Norton Industrial Sands, the group “purchased” the Grand Champion Steer for $2,150. The $2 bill was won by Clay Jones for being in the lucky numbered seat. Program chairman for Jan. 26 is Max Gordon and Jan. 30 is Shirley Henderson.
