Brady’s Bulldogs got behind early in the district opener at Liberty Hill last Friday night and were never able to get into a rythm as the Panthers downed the Dogs, 62-33. The Bulldogs are 0-1 in District 26-3A and 2-16 overall. “We got a bad start, and we were playing a good team,” Brady coach Shawn Dalbert said after the game. “But this is crunch time now. We have to start making our shots. We have guys open, but we just aren’t knocking down our shots.” The Doggies trailed 17-6 after the first period against Liberty Hill, and were down by 23 at intermission, 33-10. Johnny Menefield led the scoring for Brady with 8 points. Wasson was the hot man for the Panthers. He hit 26 points in the first three quarters. Teammate Callison added 18. “Our problem right now is scoring. It’s a new system to the boys. They are playing good defense, but offense is where we are hurting. We also are not shooting well from the free throw line,” the Brady coach said. “I’ve got to do a better job of coaching,” he lamented. The Dogs will entertain another hot team in Ingram Tom Moore tonight in Bulldog gym. The Warriors cooled Wimberley last Friday.
