Ruth A. Borden, 93, of Brady died Saturday, Jan. 6 in Odessa. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Born Sept. 22, 1907, in Camp San Saba to Manuel Evans and Rebecca (Awalt) Evans, she married John Milam Borden in 1924 in Mason. She was a licensed vocational nurse at the old M&S Hospital in Brady. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, L. Nolan Borden and wife, Rosa Christine, of Odessa; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, three brothers and two sisters.
