The Brady Lady Bulldogs “took care of business” here Tuesday night when they bounced a good Burnet basketball team to the tune of 61-41. “This was a big win for us. A loss would have been devastating for our chances of making the playoffs, but the girls knew this, came out and took care of business,” Brady coach Ted Epley said. Brady took an 11-9 lead after the first quarter then went on an 18-0 run in the second period that gave the Lady Dogs a 29-9 halftime lead. “I thought we played well in the first half,” Epley said. The game was much closer in the second half, but Burnet was just too far behind to rally. “With three minutes left in the third quarter, we were up 40-10,” the Brady coach said. “Burnet experienced a cold shooting night, but we were able to take advantage of that, something we haven’t been doing in the past,” he said. The Lady Bulldogs are 1-1 in district competition, one game behind Llano and Wimberley. “We travel to Liberty Hill Friday (tonight) for a huge contest. Of course, every game from now on is huge in this district,” Epley said.
