Mary Ellen Vincent, a former Brady schoolteacher, died Dec. 31 in Bryan. Funeral services were held Jan. 3 at the Frist Presbyterian Church of Bryan with burial in Bryan City Cemetery. Born Oct. 30, 1903, in Bryan to Randall A. and Ann Adair Stuart, she graduated from Bryan High School and received a Master’s degree from Texas Women’s University in Denton. She taught Spanish for many years in Bryan, Brady and Comfort until her retirement in 1970. Mrs. Vincent was a founding member of the Texas Pan American Round Table, a Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years and a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Blackstone Vincent and a son, Charles Homer Vincent. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Anne Homan Vincent of Lometa; and two granddaughters, Ellen Lyle Vincent of Dallas and Katie Sara Vincent of Austin.
