On Wednesday, Jan. 17, the Texas Mohair Producers Board (TMPB) will convene at 1:30 p.m. TMPB will swear in four newly elected directors. They are Bill Zuberbueler of Comstock, Pierce Miller of San Angelo, Lewis Bratton of Rochelle and Robin Giles of Comfort. The Mohair Council Executive Committee will meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A reception for all in attendance will begin at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Inn banquet room. All meetings are scheduled to adjourn by 12:30 p.m. at which time there will be a concluding lunch. This year, the highlight of the meeting will be the launch of a new line of custom mohair rugs. Laurie Bray, of Atlanta, Ga., along with Zane Willard, MCA Executive Director, will unveil the latest floor-covering venture. The rugs will be formally introduced to the retail market at Surfaces 2001, the largest floor covering show in the U.S. to be held in Las Vegas later in January. Also on the agenda of the membership meeting will be district caucuses to elect Mohair Council directors for the year 2001. Because of brisk mohair sales last year, the number of directors will increase to 54 from the current 41. Those planning to attend are asked to call Suzy Mears at the Mohair Council office in order to be included for materials and food. The MCA number is 655-3161 or 1-800-583-3161.
