Jewett Lea Estes, 88, of Brady, died Sunday, Dec. 24 at Shuffield Nursing Center II in Brady. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady, Rev. Wallace Pierce officiating. Burial followed in Stacy Cemetery. Born June 13, 1912, in Fort McKavitt to Eugene Whitfield and Eve (Johnson) Estes, she never married. She was a licensed vocational nurse at the Brady Hospital for 40 years. She had lived in Brady since 1935 and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and eight sisters.
