Reviving a classic. . .

A piece of history’This vintage World War II US Carrier-Borne Fighter Grumman F4F Wildcat airplane is midway through a paint restoration project by Alan Woodson and his painting business located at Curtis Field. One of only 7600 planes produced circa 1940, the fighter was a carrier-based plane that helped hold the line against Japanese Zeros in the early air battles over Guadalcanal. Later versions of the Wildcat flew escort missions for carriers in the later years of the war. This particular plane is owned by Howard Pardue of Breckenridge and is expected to be repainted by some time later this month.
