Brady JV girls blast Chiefs, 56-19

In their season opener against the Lake View Chiefs, the Brady Lady Bulldog JV squad soundly defeated the visiting team, 56-19. Krystal Borchert’s 16 points and Stacy Lohn’s 14 accounted for over half of the team’s offensive effort. Ten of the team’s 12 players contributed to the scoring effort as the Bulldog team rolled to their first win of the season. “I am very proud of these girls,” said coach Chris Wienecke. “Any time you hold your opponent to less than 20 points in 32 minutes of basketball, your team must be hustling and playing hard. These ladies did an excellent job, but there is always room for improvement. We are no where near as good as we can be.” The game opened up with Brady jumping out to a commanding 10-3 lead in the first period. By the half, they had widened their margin to 27-6 and there was no looking back. A 17-4 run by Brady in the third was followed by a 12-9 run in the fourth to wrap up the game, 56-19.
