The Brady Clergy Association is sponsoring the Annual Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. The service this year will be at the First Methodist Church located at 401 S. Blackburn. The service will include music, prayer and scripture celebrating God’s many blessings upon our community. Area ministers will participate. Guest praise and worship band “Revival Fire” will lead the singing and provide special music. The San Saba group is widely regarded for their joy, enthusiasm and the quality of their music. Each year the Association requests that attendees bring a contribution of canned food, which is distributed by Helping Hands to the hungry in our community. During the service a collection will be taken for support of the Association’s work with the indigent who request help from the churches of our community. The members of the Clergy Association work together to meet these needs in a responsible way so that all are helped but so that they can avoid duplicate efforts. The Clergy Association is also supported by United Way, local congregations and individual gifts. Gifts received at the Thanksgiving Service are the most important source of income for the group. After the service, the Methodist Church is hosting a time of fellowship in their fellowship hall for all those in attendance. Clergy Association president, Randall Larr stated “We encourage all citizens of Brady to gather together to share in Thanksgiving as a community of faith and in the brotherhood of Christ.” The group meets once a month to coordinate service work, learn about community activity, share goals and aspirations and enjoy the fellowship of other Christian pastors.
