New officer sworn in at Brady Police Department

OFFENSES’The Brady Police Department responded to 65 service calls during the last week of October. Three separate incidents of family violence were investigated, and one violation of a protective order was also investigated. In addition, two auto burglaries were reported and investigated as well as several cases of minors consuming alcohol. Adult arrests were made for making the substance available to minors. ARRESTS’Two arrests were made last week for possession of marijuana; four arrests were made for warrants; one for furnishing alcohol to minors; one for public intoxication; two for driving with a suspended license; two for driving while intoxicated; one for possession of a controlled substance and two for assault and family violence. ACCIDENTS’Minor accidents were reported at 2013 Parkway and the corner of North Bridge and White Streets. CITATIONS’Two citations were issued for inspection violations; four for insurance violations; one for driver’s license violations; one for right of way violation; two for speeding; three for equipment; 10 for minor’s in possession of alcohol; and one for minor in possession of tobacco. DID YOU KNOW’The Brady Police Department welcomed new officer Brian Alan McDougal to the force last month. At age 31, McDougal comes to the Brady PD from Stamford where he worked as an officer for nine years. He recently returned from a one-year stint with the United Nations in Kosovo, Yugoslavia as an international police officer. McDougal, his wife, Heather, and their daughter will be relocating to Brady from Stamford.
