With competition narrowed down to the “best of the best,” four teams met Monday to determine the Brady Youth Sports Foundation’s flag football champions for both 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade divisions. In the 3rd/4th grade match, Subway took every advantage of their quickness and agility, slamming six touchdowns on the scoreboard and outscoring Leatherwood Colonial Funeral Home, 36-0. Michael Owens accounted for one TD in the game and caught two passes, but it was Jeremy Allgood who ran in three touchdowns to seal the win. He also copped two interceptions, pulled two flags and brought down two passes. Larat Lawrence had a good showing in the game with two flags, three completed passes and a TD. Dustin Williams also ran in a touchdown. On the other end of the ball, Gregory Torres led with two flags, one attempted pass and one caught pass. Dylan Jacoby swiped one flag and had two attempted passes. Others making a positive effort in the game were Josh Behrens who pulled one flag, completed one pass and attempted another. In the 5th/6th grade division, Oglebay Norton Industrial Sands took control of the game momentum as they edged a win by Countywide Insurance, 14-10. Will Schumann led the Oglebay Norton pack with two flags, three completed passes, two attempted passes and one TD. Robert Smith followed with three flags, one caught pass and one touchdown. Jon Langseth also got on the board with a successful PAT. He also pulled three flags and attempted one pass. Others who contributed on defense were Dusty Beard who pulled six flags and Bryan Allgood who pulled five. Allgood also caught two passes in the game. For Countywide Insurance, Blaine Black ran in the only TD scored in the game. Brian Harris had a good game with three flags, two completed passes, four attempted passes and a PAT. Brady Young also scored on a PAT, pulled one flag and caught one pass. Aaron Harris accounted for seven pulled flags followed by Johnathan Broz and Luke Corntassel who each pulled two.
