With All Hallows’ Eve lurking around the corner, the Brady/McCulloch Chamber of Commerce is brainstorming for an interesting treat to please everyone this Halloween season. The Chamber has selected to organize a Halloween decorating contest’the first of its kind in Brady. Two divisions will be offered, one for businesses and the other for residences. First place in each division is $50, second place is $35 and third place is $15. A Halloween or fall harvest theme is recommended for all businesses or residences participating in the contest. Entries will be accepted through 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30 for businesses with judging beginning at 10:30 a.m. For the residential category, entries will be accepted through 5 p.m. with judging starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 30. Contact the Chamber office at 597-3491 to enter. “The Halloween decorating contest is new this year at the request of several local businesses and residents,” said C-C executive vice president DeLaine Poe. “It’s sure to promote some fun and ‘freakish’ entries.” In addition, Mrs. Poe added that regular trick-or-treat activities will be conducted on Halloween night as opposed to past holidays when the event conflicted with sporting activities.
