Levi Fry, 86, of Cherokee and formerly of Burnet, died Saturday, Oct. 14 in Llano. Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. at the Fry Family Cemetery in Burnet County with Rev. Melvin Williams officiating. Born April 27, 1914, in Burnet to John Wesley and Effie Puritt Fry, he married Dessie Buckelew in Brady on Oct. 19, 1935. She preceded him in death on April 5, 1998. He had been a resident of San Saba County for 36 years. Survivors include five sons, Albert Fry and wife, Doris, of San Saba, Allen Fry and wife, Deannie of Lake Victor, Cole Fry and wife, Stella, of Llano, Jerry Fry of Cherokee, and Ronnie Fry and wife, Mary, of Llano; three daughters, Louise Isbell and husband, Brook, of Florence, Sheila Meador and husband, Glynn, of San Saba and Margaret Shannon and husband, Ron, of Cherokee; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pres Fry of Burnet; a sister, Minnie Elliot of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Wayne Fry; two daughters, Wanda Newsome and Evelyn Joyce Fry; two sisters and five brothers.
