Bulldog seventh continue win streak

After getting off to a slow start last Thursday, the Brady Bulldog seventh grade gold football team stormed to a 20-0 victory over the Ballinger Bearcats. “Ballinger was easily the best team we have played this season,” said Brady coach Jeff Hurta, “But once our team got into the groove, the scoring began.” Offensive standout of the night was quarterback Trevor Rainey who ran for 70 yards on 10 carries which included one touchdown while hitting 5 of 10 passes for 58 yards. “Rainey’s favorite receiver of the night was Lance Andrews,” said the coach. “Andrews caught four passes for 39 yards.” Jake Dodds and Acey Morvan led the ground attack for the Bulldogs. Morvan carried the ball five times for 58 yards with his longest carry coming on a 36-yard touchdown run. Dodds carried the ball six times for 56 yards which included a 10-yard TD run. “It’s a good feeling when you have two good backs like Dodds and Morvan on the same team,” said Hurta. Defensively, the young Doggies had their fourth straight shutout, extending their scoreless streak to yet another game. Defensive standouts were Matthew Watson and Adrian Sanchez. “I could not be more proud of the kids on the team,” said coach Hurta. “It has been a lot of fun working with this group. They just seem to have winning in their blood.” The young Doggies traveled to Comanche Thursday for their next gridiron matchup. Bulldog 7th extends win streak to 4
