St. Patrick’s Fall Festival set Sunday

A sure sign that fall is here, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will once again sponsor its annual Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Heart of Texas Civic Center on Highway 87 North in Brady. A growing tradition in the Heart of Texas, the annual festival is the church’s main fund raising event. Keeping in step with previous years, the big ticket item will once again be the raffle of a 2000 Ford Mustang. Only 300 tickets were made available for this raffle at $100 each and there are still some tickets left. In the drawings for other door prizes, top winners will walk away with cash or merchandise sponsored by St. Patrick’s Church. The first prize winner will receive a $750 gift certificate from John’s Western Wear; the second prize winner will receive a Holland grill donated by Sonic Drive- In and the third and fourth prize winners will each receive $200 gift certificates (one from Super S Foods and one from McShans Foods). The fifth place prize winner will receive a VCR donated by the family of Tony Resendez and the sixth place prize winner will receive a jam box courtesy of Dr. Pete Castro’s family. A $1 donation will be required for raffle tickets for these prizes and persons need not be present to win. Other activities and booths will be offered throughout the day including a country store, cake walk, select games and a silent auction. The ever-popular German sausage/ turkey and dressing meal will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meal tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.
