Berta Sue Hubbard, 85, of Brady died Tuesday, Sept. 12 in Brady. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Brady, Dr. Billy Spencer officiating. Burial followed in Rochelle Cemetery under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Honorary pallbearers were the Brady Lions Club and the Brady Masonic Lodge. Born Jan. 24, 1915, in Rochelle to Arthur Moseley and Mattie Scales Moseley, she was a school teacher in the Rochelle Schools for over 10 years. She was a teacher in the Brady Schools for over 25 years. She was a lifelong resident of the area, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a former member of the Rochelle Study Club, the Eastern Star and the Damrosch Music Club. Survivors include her husband, Gaylord (Happy) Hubbard, of the home; a son, Tobe Hubbard and wife, Rilene, of Bastrop; a daughter, Gayl Taylor and husband, Rod, of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren, John Spencer and wife, Julie, and Jadwin Lee Hubbard and wife, DeAnna, Trent Austin Taylor and wife, Karen, Jennifer Suzanne Taylor and Dale Dingley and wife, Janie; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Hubbard, Jett Hubbard, Jaci Hubbard, Drake Taylor, Jason Lefkowitz, Joshua Lefkowitz, Jasmin Dingley and Jerad Dingley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
