Millard Clinton McWilliams, 82, of Fredonia, died Wednesday, Sept. 6 in Llano Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8 in Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Llano, Rev. Don Henderson, officiating. Burial will be in Pontotoc Cemetery. Born Jan. 15, 1918, in Fredonia, he had been in the Heart of Texas area most of his life. Mr. McWilliams worked for Safeway for 23 years as a food clerk. He also was a farmer. He married Mildred Vest on June 20, 1939, in Mason. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Stella Hunt and her husband, Bill, of Georgetown, and Patty Rodgers and her husband, Eddie, of Florence; a son, Doug McWilliams and his wife, Karon, of Fredonia; four sisters, Leta Tomkins of Augusta, Ga., Alpha Peterson of Lubbock, Loretta Kerr of Austin and Jane Sessom of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, three nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ruth McWil-liams; a son, Tommy Robert McWil-liams in 1971; a brother, W.R. McWilliams in 1989 and a grandson, John Robert Hunt in 1962. The family requested memorials be made to the Pontotoc Cemetery Association or a favorite charity.
