Casa Care Director’s Report

Twenty-three children have registered for the Casa Care Afterschool Program which will begin Sept. 6. If anyone is interested in volunteering to help these children with homework, arts and crafts, or recreation, please call Sheryl Whitworth at 597-0163. We are thankful to several people for their contributions to our program. Mary Ann Smith made flyers to be placed in each child’s packet on the first day of school. We very much appreciate the donation of these 300 copies as well as the enrollment forms and other registration materials. Besides the vandalism involved in cutting off the electricity to the building earlier this summer, someone broke the locks on the door. Ruben Vega repaired the damage and re-keyed the locks at a greatly reduced price. Pam Eaton and Jan Gardner donated books, and Phil White helped with our computers and Commercial National Bank also generously donated a calculator to be used at the center. . Without your donations of time, money, and materials, Casa Care would not be possible. This is truly a community project.
