To the Editor

Dear Richard, I saw your picture on the front page of the Standard-Herald and remembered how I used to catch perch in Brady Creek. That was about 65 years ago. The best hole I found was just below the grain elevator. I don’t believe I ever had as big a stringer full as you caught though. That may be because of that good rod you are carrying in the picture. It has to be better than a mesquite limb, some kite twine and a bent pin (earth worm bait). Used to clean my perch, and my grandmother would fry them for me then fry some water cornbread patties in the fish grease. So good. Congratulations on a fine catch. Is that a bass on the bottom of the stringer’ You sure stirred some good memories. DR. BILLY MAYSE Freeport, Tex.
