Neal, Castleberry exchange vows in double ring ceremony

Melissa Neal and Mark Castleberry were united in marriage Saturday, June 3 in the First Christian Church in Brady. Tony Gruben, minister of the First Baptist Church in Paint Rock, officiated the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony. Melissa is the daughter of William and Susan Neal of Brady. She was a 1996 graduate of Brady High School and a 2000 graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She completed her college education with a degree in agricultural communications and is currently employed as an admissions counselor and recruiter for the New Mexico Military Institute at Roswell, N. Mex. Mark, the son of Charles and Betty Castleberry, is a 1991 graduate of Tulia High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Texas A&M in 1996 and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas Tech University in 1998. He is employed as an area manager for the dairy division for the Monsanto Company at Roswell, N. Mex. Grandparents are Mrs. Margaret Locklear of Brady, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Neal of Paint Rock, Mrs. Margurette Alexander of Stephenville and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Castleberry of Artesia, N. Mex. The bride chose an elegant gown designed by the Moonlight Collection. The gown has a fitted bodice with a scoop neck and short sleeves decorated with beautiful Alencon lace and pearl beading. The skirt is a full elusion skirt with Alencon lace with pearl beading all along the bottom of the gown. Alencon lace with pearl beading is also sprinkled on the elusion skirt. The bride’s cousin, Lesa Locklear, served as the maid of honor while friends, Kate Martin, Kelly McCulloch and Dusty Dodd served as the bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore a periwinkle blue Alfred Angelo floor length dresses with an empire waist, scoop neck and buttons down the back. They carried Anna roses, white roses and misty heathers. David Castleberry, brother of the groom, served as best man while friends Eric Cederstrom, Heath Haedge and Jared Whitworth served as groomsmen. The groomsmen wore Dover styled black tuxedos with grey and silver vests. Assisting as flower girl was Taylor Castleberry, niece of the groom. Diane Jones played the piano, and Beverly Hutchins sang “Parent’s Prayer.” Ushers were Brandon Neal, brother of the bride; Wes Dobmeir, friend of the groom; Cody Snodgrass, friend of the bride; and Session Howell, friend of both the bride and groom. Annie Parchman helped with the guest book, and Rachel Neal, cousin of the bride, and friends, Penny Williams, Tonya Burson, Julie Porter and Bonnie Terrell served as the house party. Also assisting at the reception which was held at the Heart of Texas Civic Center were Marylynn Foster, Avanell Siler, Pam Roper, Lynn Munden, Cynthia Quinn and Cheryl Whitworth. The couple honeymooned for nine days on the island of Yswawa in Fiji and will make their home in Roswell, N. Mex.
