Oliver Lee Wilborn, 87, of Marshall died June 10 in Merritt Plaza Nursing Home in Marshall. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at Travis St. Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall with the Rev. Ron Segers, Norris Willborn and Jesse Poe officiating. Burial followed in Algoma Cemetery North. Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Holt Community in San Saba County to Homer Lee Willborn and Nancy Josephine Willborn, he received his education in San Saba County public schools. He married Bessie Eliza Campell on Sept. 22, 1934, in Lakeview Community in San Saba County. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church of Marshall, and he served as a deacon for various churches for 30 years. Survivors include two sons, Norris Lee Willborn and wife, Charlotte, of Alta Loma, Calif., and Homer Dwight Willborn and wife, Frances, of Big Spring; a daughter, Cleta Joyce Brown and husband, Eugene, of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Cary Willborn, Sherrie Maxon, Linda Bradford, Lisa Dawn Wollam, Susan Power, Tonna Nix and Keisha Newcomb; 10 great-grandchildren, Nathan Willborn, Cassie Willborn, Jonathan Brown, Jessica and Tara Wollam, Jonathan and Kattie Bradford, Ashlie Nix, Shelbey Poweer and Brooke Power; six step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Willborn; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife and two grandchildren, Ricky Willborn and Lisa Brown.
