Miss Heart of Texas pageant kicks off 74th annual Jubilee

The 61st annual Miss Heart of Texas pageant is back in Brady once again, scheduled for this Saturday night, June 24 at the Brady High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Charlie and Connie Humphreys will be presiding over the event as the 2000 pageant emcees. The 13 contestants competing for the crown and their future queens and escorts are Crystal Alexis Rivera with Maribel Mata and Garrison Price, Cameron Mays with Maggie Mays and Devin Keese, Melisa Weeks with Samantha Springer and Elijah Adams, Jennifer Rene Gonzales with Vanessa Morales and Jaron Sandoval; Allison Allen with Katie Ross and Travis Sammons; Jamie Cooley with Kacy Keith and Tyler Van Dyke, Stephanie Rutherford with DaKota Smith and Joe Parks, Alisha Condron with Martha Jones and Ethan Harris, Beth Reinisch with Anslie Bernard and Mason Bierman, Jessica Marie Fuentes with Yvette Ramirez and Marcus Perez; Angela Castanuela with Alison Valencia and Johathan Trevino, Kristin Lundgren with Brooke Epley and Will Long and Jessica Ann Garcia with Courtney Garner and Trey Lafuente. Escorts for the pageant will be Adrian Jones and Bobby Salinas, both 2000 graduates of Brady High School. “Magical Millennium” is the theme for this year’s Miss Heart of Texas Pageant. Orville Wright is scheduled to sing the National Anthem and entertainment will be provided by Overflow of Austin. Members of Overflow are Brandon Gibbs, lead vocals, formerly of Brady and son of Mike and Michelle Gibbs; Shawn Stockton on guitar, Justin Rogers on guitar, Jeremy Bow on percussion and Matt Bowers on bass. To the winner of the Miss Heart of Texas title will go a $100 savings bond, courtesy of Commercial National Bank, a gift certificate for $100, redeemable at any Evridge store, a golden pendant donated by Young’s Jewelry, one month’s membership to Tone-N-Tan, a car-care kit from Napa, a World Championship Barbeque Goat Cook-off T-shirt from the Brady/McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce, gift certificates from HOT Tacos and Dairy Queen, an engraved charm, flowers and a banner from Beta Sigma Phi sorority along with many other prizes awarded to each finalist. The reigning Miss Heart of Texas, Lauri Donop, and her court, first runner-up Allie Trollinger and second runner-up Lauren Whitworth, will preside over the festivities. Programs will be available for $5 each at the Brady/McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce, Cowboy Cleaners, Commercial National Bank, Young’s Jewelry and at the door on the evening of the pageant.
