Leslie Bruce named collegiate scholar

The United States Achievement Academy announced that Leslie Paul Bruce of Childress has been named an All-American Collegiate Scholar. The USAA established the All-American Award Program to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in academic disciplines. The All-American Collegiate Scholars must earn a 3.3 or higher grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school official or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA. Bruce, who attends Texas Tech University, was nominated for this award by Dr. James Gregory. He will appear in the All-American Collegiate Yearbook, which is published nationally. He is the son of Gene and Cheryl Bruce of Childress. Grandparents are Ted and Betty Bruce of Childress, Lindsey and Louise Passmore of Rochelle and Ken and Ann Bright of Amarillo.
