Jim Waller, 58, of Jackson, Tenn., died Thursday, March 16 after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, March 20 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel in Jackson, Tenn., with Dr. John R. Bonson, Sr. officiating and Dr. C.N. Ricks assisting. Burial followed at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson. Born in 1941 in Luray, Tenn., to Everette and Louise Waller, he graduated from Messick High School in Memphis in 1959. He earned a BBA in mangement and marketing from Memphis State University in 1964. From 1964 to 1966, he served on active duty as a navigator in the Tennessee Air National Guard, flying support missions for the United States Air Force in Southeast Asia. Following his military service, he worked as a sales manager for Burroughs Corporation in Memphis, Tenn., and in Omaha, Neb. He returned to Jackson to work as a sales consultant for Bank Building Corporation where he remained until his retirement in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Moseley Waller of Jackson; a son, Greg Waller and wife, Dale, of Houston; a daughter, Jana Waller of Jackson; a granddaughter, Julia Waller of Houston; and his mother-in-law, Mary Jo Moseley of Rochelle.
