Betty Williams, a charter member of the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, was recently honored for 25 years of dedicated service to the hospital and its volunteer auxiliary program. In a banquet held May 4, Auxiliary President Debbie Vickers praised Williams for 25 years of service, above and beyond the call of duty. “The level of her dedication and commitment to a volunteer service is a rarity that we are privileged to recognize and honor,” said Mrs. Vickers. Over her two and one half decades of service to the hospital, Mrs. Williams has logged some 8,000 hours of service. Whether it was answering phones at the hospital switchboard or helping out with bake sale fund-raisers, the true gift of giving has been emulated through the deeds and actions of Mrs. Williams.
