In his re-election statement, Councilman Grant Evridge pleads poor mouth again for not fixing Brady’s goshawful streets. It’s the same tune he played when he was on the Council before. No one expects municipalities to finance capital improvements out of current revenue. Cities build streets, city halls, airports, fire stations and libraries with bond issues’or as our City Council prefers, Certificates of Obligation. Evridge had no qualms about voting for $6 million in Certificates of Obligation to build a worthless water project’but not a dime for the streets. Brady hasn’t had a bond issue since we built Brady Lake almost 40 years ago. You can’t sit on your rear end and wait for a handout from the state. BOB WILSON Brady
