Ed Spiller Boswell, 71, of Voca, died Friday, July 14, 2006, in Voca. Funeral services were held Monday, July 17 at 10 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Burial followed in Rest Haven Cemetery. He was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Brady, to James Manuel and Verna Evelyn (Spiller) Boswell. On April 24, 1954, he and Marthella Garner were married. He owned a trucking service and was a rancher and farmer. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and listening to music. Survivors include his wife, Marthella Boswell of Voca; a daughter, Roycella Lancaster and husband, David, of Phoenix, Ariz.; his step-mother, Edith Slaughter of Brady; his mother, Verna Trammell of Brady; a brother, Bill Boswell and wife, Mickey, of Brady; a step-brother, Knox Trammell, Jr. and wife, Rose, of Kingsville; a step-sister, Mary Lanford and husband, Jim, of Elgin; two grandsons, Chad and Kody Waddill of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Boswell; and a son, James Roy Boswell. Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Roddie, David Bratton, Robbie Turk, James Durst, Doug Beaman and Dean Christy, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Alphonse Dotson, Billy Roddie, Glenn Miller, Alvin Pitcox, Sr. and Mike Larsh.
